LYG BOROUGH LOGO DUO CAMDEN (1)

London Youth Games

We are really excited to be taking part in the London Youth Games new initiative, the Virtual Games. Taking place over four-weeks, children of all ages are given the chance to represent their Boroughs in a series of sport-related challenges that can be done at home, at school or while out for daily exercise.

Three weekly challenges are released every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 9.00am on the London Youth Games website, and participants have until Friday at 12.00pm to complete the challenges and submit their scores.   A leaderboard with the latest Borough standings is updated each week, and after the final challenge, the winning Borough will be crowned the first ever LYG Virtual Games champions.

To add to the fun, individual prizes are also up for grabs.   Each week a Most Valued Player (MVP) will be selected by each borough, and also by LYG, based on the ability, creativity and style shown in their videos.  We are delighted to have had one of our year 4 students, Isabella Murray, crowned as Camden’s 1st MVP.  She showed amazing initiative and creativity in the Netball challenge, and we are SUPER proud of her!  This has since been followed by Poppy Street in Year 5 feeling the burn in the Sumo Sit-Out activity.  Two MVP’s from two sets of challenges – a sterling effort by The Village Prep girls. Bring on the next set of challenges!
