The Village Prep Girls Takeover StoneX Stadium

As a partner school of Saracens Rugby, we were offered the most wonderful opportunity of activating the Saracens Vs London Irish match at the StoneX Stadium. Needless to say, we snapped up the chance and had the most fabulous afternoon. Village Prep families were out in full force, taking over a whole section of the West stand. The biggest school outing in the history of The Village!

Girls from Year 3 upwards excitedly took to the pitch to form the Guard of Honour, and to carry the GIANT Sarries shirt in front of a sold-out stadium crowd. It was a real honour, and a moment that the girls won’t ever forget. But the fun didn’t stop there. At half time, they were back on the pitch, participating in some organised rugby drills and games. The girls’ enthusiasm and energy for rugby astounded the Saracens team – so much so that they would like to use the girls’ pitch experience to encourage more girls into rugby. In fact, a spectator watching the girls in action at half time pointed out their skills to his daughter to which she replied ‘I would like to play rugby too!’.  What trailblazers our students are!
